This blog was created to allow teachers and students to contribute to a global sharing initiative based on World War 2. We are currently looking for teachers, students, and even whole classes to share their experiences, lessons, and opinions about how the topic of WWII is taught in your school / country. My class in particular has been interested in the biases of textbooks and how different countries emphasize certain information.
We are also interested in contacting other classes/teachers from around the globe and discuss these topics. It could simply be an occasional email or it could be turned into a unit involving global communication.
If you do plan on posting, please include where you are from and what grade(s) you are.
Some general questions to start us off:
So, where's the emphasis? What are the major topics of that are covered when teaching or learning about World War II? Is there something being left out or ignored? Is there something or someone getting too much emphasis in your curriculum?
